The San Bernardino National Forest is recognized for its rich history in providing recreational opportunities since the late 1800s. It offers a peaceful retreat in the mountains with hundreds of miles of hiking trails, designated Wildernesses, campgrounds, winter recreation resorts, wild and scenic rivers, the tallest mountains in Southern California, and destinations for off-highway vehicle riding. Among its many recreational opportunities, it includes designated areas for hunting, fishing, and shooting.
Visitors can only target shoot in designated and signed areas and only at certain times due to fire danger rating. Target Shooting areas may be closed depending on the fire danger rating.
