Spenceville Wildlife Area, located in the Sierra Foothills of Northern California, spans approximately 11,900 acres and offers a variety of activities including fishing, hiking, and equestrian trail riding. The area has a rich history, initially used by native peoples, followed by gold miners, and later acquired by the government for military training before the Department of Fish and Game took over in the 1960s. It was designated as a Wildlife Area in 1968.
Closed to all hunting from Feb 1 through Aug 31 except during Spring Turkey Season. Special permit required for the first 9 days of Spring Turkey Season. No drones without a Special Use Permit.
